AWS Certifications

AWS Cloud Practitioner, Developer - Associate, Solutions Architect - Associate, SysOps Administrator

Matthew Chirichella

Getting familiarized with any instance of cloud computing has been an imperative component of any self-respecting Data Engineer for a number of years now. Becoming certified in something seemingly powerful as The AWS suite of Software appears has been a challenge that shaped what I wish to do for a career as soon as I became aware of the endless possibilities! For example, this website is merely an AWS S3 bucket being made discoverable through a domain being hosted on several AWS Route53 records.

AWS Certification Being Pursued

Seeing as how there has been few tools that really exist with the same "ease of access" as the AWS suite, it made logical sense to me as being the proper choice for what I would use to make my stack for a fantasy baseball lineup/trade assistant. Though a service like Amazon Redshift would be great for a professional organization to store Petabyte-Scale data warehouse, the cost was inhibitive. The "cheaper" solution I opted for (originally) was establishing a data pipeline with Amazon Kinesis from Baseball Savant, making it universal with AWS Glue as an ETL, and storing it in a PostgreSQL AWS DynamoDB database. This was of course significantly more costly than simply doing the same thing, but on a mySQL DB on my local device, but I will upload a demo of the software for viewing (with the option of launching the software as its own site later!).
